Case Studies
Aaask Event Branding has worked on a range of events over the years, please see below just a small selection of case studies of past work we have done.
Coventry City FC Makes Cash and Saves Cash with Perflex Seat Advertising System
Coventry City contacted us in 2009 to install several sponsors banners over the seating areas largely unused except during the very biggest gates. The Perflex Mesh Banners have various advantages for the club.
- The Perflex Mesh Banners act as Crowd Segregation keeping Rival Fans at a manageable distance.
- Areas of Seating can be taken out of circulation reducing policing and stewarding costs.
- Large Areas can be released for advertising space to generate additional revenue for the club.
- Great Opportunity for sponsors to dominate the stadium maximising their brand exposure.
AAASK Event Branding are working with a number of Stadia, Clubs and Venues to manage this advertising medium for them and are actively seeking advertising partners, advertising agencies and experiential marketing agencies to participate in this opportunity. Please get in touch if you are interested in Stadia Seat Advertising we would be delighted to assist you with your requirement.
Champions League Cup Final Wembley May 2011
The prestigious flagship UEFA Champions league cup final was hosted by Wembley Stadium this year and the organisers contacted us to produce the required high quality VIP Seating Area. Gold and Silver Wembley and Champions League and Women's Champions League Suede Stadia Seat covers were produced offering an extra touch of class for the top football brass in the UK and Europe. AAASK visited the new Wembley Stadium and Craven Cottage, took templates and measurements of the various VIP Stadia Seats and produced trial fittings in various qualities of high quality fabrics with trial prints to allow the organisers to make the best choice selection for maximum impact for the VIP guests at the event. Needless to say that the organisers were delighted with the final result on the day and a deserved winning result for Barcelona.
UEFA Cup Final Aviva Stadium Dublin 18th May 2011
During the final stages of the competition in March, the organisers contact AAASK to produce the pitch display for the UEFA Cup Final at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The finalists wouldn't be known until the Semi Finals had
been played 10 days prior. AAASK were then given the 10 days to print and
manufacture over 1000 square meters of Pitch Display and deliver it to Dublin
ahead of scheduled full dress rehearsals. AAASK provided blank pitch flags for
the rehearsals to proceed 14 days prior to the delivery of the actual branded
flags to enable the production team to get a head start with their choreography
and routine. The end result was a spectacular display to add to a very memorable
event and a resounding win for Porto over their Portuguese rivals Braga.
Delhi
Commonwealth Games Handover Oct 2010
Aaask Event Branding produced the ground cloth for the hand over ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, this times for the 2010 Delhi Games. Glasgow 2014 Ceremonies contacted us with the project they had in mind and we were invited to Tender for the contract to manufacture and supply the Centre Piece for the Commonwealth Handover Ceremony to Glasgow from Delhi in October 2010. AAASK were awarded the contract and set about producing the centre piece. The Pitch Canvas was delivered to Scotstoun Sports Ground where the production Team could conduct rehearsals and Toryglen Indoor Sports Hall prior to being Air Freighted our to Delhi for more rehearsals and the finale of the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games Hand over ceremony.
Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Bid
Glasgow City Council called Aaask Event Branding to help with their bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games. They wanted us to supply and fit a range of branding to all of the council run sports centres and pools. After carefully surveying the requirements at each individual venue, we then created site specific branded schemes for each venue, organised the artwork design and then installed the self-adhesive vinyls.
It was clear that something really special was required for Glasgow's Flagship Sports Venue, Kelvinhall International Sports Arena, so we created a massive centrepiece for the arena to add a real wow factor, and additionally we found the floor space which was essentially going spare was perfect for adding a huge floor vinyl which we carefully designed to take real advantage of the space and opportunity.
The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bid was subsiquently successful beating rival bids from Abuja and Halifax. We await and look forward to the event with anticipation of a highly successful Games for Glasgow, Scotland and the UK.
Scottish Conservative Party
Edinburgh based Agency Familycomm called us in late April and required a large flag and FAST!
We were advised that this was to be used for a top secret political campaign launch. Using the supplied artwork we created a giant flag 12m x 8m, and were also asked to produce a number of smaller flags to compliment it.
The end user turned out to be the Scottish Conservative Party, who achieved high impact media attention with the flag. In fact the large flag got so much publicity, TV News coverage and was so successful in getting the message across that we never needed to produce the smaller flags at all, and saved the campaign money!
Whyte and McKay
To celebrate the re-branding of its entire range of blended whisky, Whyte and McKay knew they wanted something really special, so they came to Aaask Event Branding. We produced and installed a massive PVC banner approximately 20m x 10m and hung it from the top of the company city centre headquarters.
This was no mean feat! The banner had to be printed onto PVC mesh to keep it lightweight, and with the building topping almost 50m in height we needed abseilers to drop down with the banner and secure it to the building structure.
The original "Reveal" was intended to be one quick free drop of the banner - however, we suffered at the hands of a blustery scottish day and so instead did a slower unveil to the delighted and intruiged passing traffic, pedestrians and press alike.
The unveiling featured in most of Scotlands major daily newspapers, helping Whyte and McKay achieve a successful rebranding launch.
Sony Bravia TV Advert
When Sony were looking to create the much awaited follow up to their award winning Balls advert, they set their sights on a tower block in a Glasgow suburb that was earmarked for quick demolition. The perfect location to detonate a sequence of over 350 paint bombs filled with 70,000 litres of multi-coloured paint, covering the building exterior in a lovely new rainbow colour scheme.
With the demolition fast approaching, the producers called upon Aaask to quickly produce and install covers and debris nets for the rest of the surrounding housing development of 70 houses in two blocks. Without adequate protection to these properties from flying debris and thousands of gallons of paint, the project would not have been able to proceed.
We supplied over 2200m2 of debris netting to cover the building facades and almost 2500m2 of PVC to cover the roofs and gable ends. We managed the installation in just one day leaving plenty of time for the hard work and preparation of MTP production and Sony to come to glorious fruition with the spectacular paint ball extravaganza that ensued.
RNAS Yeovilton - Harrier Jump Jet Retirement
Aaask already had built a good working relationship with Yeovilton Regiment and had been producing flags and banners for them for some time. So when they asked us to create a big banner to celebrate the retirement of the Royal Navy's famous Sea Harrier FA2 Jump Jets, we were delighted to be involved.
We worked closely alongside them to agree a design, which although appears small in the picture is actually 15m x 15m in size. It has become traditional for the crews of Naval Aircraft Carriers to mark special events by spelling them out on the flight deck, but this is a first for RNAS YEOVILTON.
The event included a full military parade and a fly past by the Sea Harriers of 801 Naval Air Squadron, the third and final Sea Harrier squadron to be decommissioned at RNAS Yeovilton as part of the migration towards the Joint Force Harrier.
After the event, the regiment presented the Aaask team with a photo frame of them and the banner. It was a very proud moment for us to receive such a lovely thankyou gift and to have been part of the final send of for one of the country's best engineering legacies, which had done much to defend Britains borders and fight our cause to great effect overseas.
Manchester Commonwealth Games - 2002
The AAASK Team had been recommended to Jack Morton Worldwide as a company that could deliver Stadia Event Canvas on time, to budget and had the skills and experience to tackle such an important event for the nation.
Jack Morton had considered several companies but only the AAASK Management could demonstrate the creative input, specialist textile knowledge, logistical experience and price required to become part of the biggest Event to be held in the UK for many years.
The task was to produce 200,000 sq ft of Stadia Canvas that would contain all the properties necessary such as flame retardency, non-slip, hydrophilic, and be able to be produced with a complex design over the whole surface of the Stadia Canvas to effectively move from the centre of the stadium as it was at that time, to the centre of the constructed stadia and effectively the Royal Box for HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Our Team worked with Jack Morton’s to create the logistical means, the fabric production and desired result for the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the games. It was a great Honour to be selected to commence manufacture of the Stadia Event Canvas and enable the display to be one of a handful of displays to rival any around the globe over the last decade.
RWC 1999 - Cardiff
Tony Ball Associates – Having worked with AAASK for several high profile events, Tony Ball Associates once again called on us to help develop ideas, themes and possibilities to produce a winning pitch proposal to the IRB for the Rugby Worlds Pinnacle Event.
With a raft of disciplines at our disposal including self coloured fabrics, appliqué, digital printing, signwriting and specialist processing of the fabrics - we went on to produce another and even more ambitious Opening and Closing Ceremony. The methods we used meant that Tony Ball Associates were able to command much more bang for their buck, leaving them a a bigger budget for performing artists such as Max Boyce, Michael Ball, Shirley Bassey and Kerris Mathews, as well as a Red Arrow flyover, major participant dancing and a Flaming Dragon.
Hailed as one of the most ambitious opening and closing ceremonies of its time, we added not only the product but offered input into how the product should be deployed and were present at rehearsals to offer assistance, advice and help whenever we could. It was a privilege to be involved with the event and we are proud to have been associated with such a memorable display. Tony Ball Associates once again were a pleasure to work with.
Euro 96 - Wembley
Aaask had worked with Tony Ball Associates on several RFU Pre-match displays at Twickenham for English International Matches, and so naturally, they contacted us when they were pitching to win the contract for the Euro 96 Opening and Closing Ceremony.
Their Creative Team worked closely with our own to explore our capabilities, working methods and costings. All of which enabled us to produce large pitch displays including a large centre piece as well as flowing coloured fabrics and giant flags. Our methods used a range of disciplines to enable Tony Ball to create large impressive displays for a fraction of the cost of traditional methods and allowed their budget to go much further. They invested the extra cash to create a knock out event including an impressive fireworks display, performers, dancers and choreography, thus making the event an overall success to produce two memorable ceremonies which really set the benchmark for future similar ceremonies and displays in the years to come.
Champions League Cup Finals
Production Team – The UK’s leading Large Scale Event Organiser had used us on several occasions over many years to produce pitch displays. When they were given the opportunity to pitch for the Champions League Cup Final in Barcelona they contacted us to explore possibilities and assist them in the compilation of their proposal to UEFA.
We were able to offer unrivalled experience and knowledge to produce a very successful and memorable event leading to an association lasting many years and enabling successful tenders year on year to produce the Event Canvas Pitch Displays reproducing UEFA Logo’s, Club Logo’s and Centre pieces of these events.
EUFA Cup Finals
AAASK were approached by UEFA to produce the centre piece logo for the Cup Final and by Event 360 to produce Large Scale Club Badges for the pre-match entertainment of the Cup Final.
Super Cups
Using Existing and previously produced large scale Tournament Logo’s - Champions League and UEFA Cup, AAASK were invited to produce the Competing Club Logo’s which were expertly reproduced by hand to take centre stage and we have been lucky to have been asked in subsequent years to produce club logo’s, replica shirts, and large Stadia Pitch Canvasses.
